CALIFA: The Consortium Serving All California Libraries Califa has formal affiliations with vendors who are willing to work with Califa to provide services to approximately 220 member libraries in a cost-effective manner. Below are the service standards we provide to our members and those standards we expect vendors to meet in order to be considered as part of the Vendor Partner Program. Califa Standards of Service:

  • Identify key products and services that will improve library services in a cost effective manner
  • Evaluate vendors, products and services against established Califa product standards
  • Negotiate agreements & master contracts for discounted products for members
  • Add value to products and services through additional information, documentation, reviews, marketing, and training
  • Track member expenditures
  • Evaluate products and services for quality and improvement

Califa Affiliate Product Standards:

  • Clear description
  • Clear pricing
  • Documentation for end users available electronically
  • Demonstrated usefulness and value to libraries
  • References to library users (in California)
  • Evaluation and generating statistics

Training:

  • Use of product by end-users
  • Use of products by library staff
  • Marketing products to end-users
