The Califa eBook Steering Committee consists of member libraries that have been selecting eBooks from multiple vendors for a number of years. Califa member libraries have been early adopters of the eBook and downloadable audio eBook formats. The Committee looks at emerging trends and continuously evaluates all issues associated with content delivery in multiple digital formats.
Califa sets up vendor trials for its members and negotiates with the vendor to offer the best possible discount for its members. Shared collections are managed by Califa and ongoing collection development is distributed between participating members.
Meetings of the eBook Steering Committee are held quarterly, usually on the first Wednesday of the meeting month.
