Latest news (updated 7/31/10):
Califa Letter to eBook Creators
Many people in the world of libraries have been trying to determine a sustainable business model to provide eBook access to the users of public
libraries. Along with a consortium in Florida, Califa has published an Open Letter to eBook Creators. Our intent is to persuade publishers
to make popular eBook titles available for lending. This was a topic much discussed at ALA last month and a resolution was passed by the Council
to appoint a working group to develop policy and determine a process for moving forward.
As partners, Califa and OCLC will collaborate on programs and activities to enhance services and expand educational
opportunities to members of both organizations. Read the news release here.
